2017 Kinsmen Music Festival

The 63rd Annual Kinsmen Music Festival wrapped up with the Concert of the Stars and awards presentations on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Aultsville Theatre in Cornwall, Ontario. The festival was a BIG success!  We would like to thank and congratulate all the students and teachers!!

 

Awards were presented to the following students:

  • Kinsmen Trophy (conservatory vocals class): Kaisa Este

  • St. Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital Trophy (piano sonatina): Briana Perrone

  • Dr. Bruce Wheatcroft Trophy (music theatre or pop music): Madison Todd

  • Oscar Peterson Memorial Trophy (jazz blues/piano): Evelyn Cumming

  • Kim Baird Trophy (musical theatre or pop piano): Magali Nichol

  • Gertrude Lavoie Memorial Trophy (conservatory piano) Myriam Quesnel

  • Kinsmen Piano Trophy (beginner or pre-conservatory pianist): Savannah Small

  • Cornwall Mazda Trophy (Canadian composers piano): Owen Hayword

  • Kubelka Trophy (four hands, duet team): Alyssa Edgar and Emma Paterson

  • Centrestage Trophy (performance potential): Reegan Derikx
  • Piano bursary Class: Myriam Quesnel (elementary) - Abigail Small (junior) - Reegan Derikx (intermediate) - Briana Perrone (senior)
  • Piano Challenge Class (1st place $100): Heath Patterson
                                               (2nd place $50): Briana Perrone
                                               (3rd place $25): Magoli Nichol

  •  Voice bursary: Payton Roy (junior) - Victoria Charlebois (senior)

  • Kinsmen School Pizza Party for outstanding dance ensemble: Grade 7 Dance Troupe from St. Lawrence High School

  • Kinsmen School Pizza Party for outstanding instrumental ensemble: Seaway District High School

  • Kinsmen School Pizza Party for outstanding choral ensemble: Winchester Public School Junior Choir

2016 Day of KINdness

Members of the Cornwall Kinsmen Club were at the Second Street Food Basics on Saturday, December 10, 2016 for their Kinsmen Day of KINdness. The volunteers were handing out free coffee and cookies, helping bag groceries and were surprising unsuspecting shoppers by paying for their groceries with $1,100.00 to give away.
