CORNWALL, Ontario - Nice guys don't always finish last - the Kinsmen Club of Cornwall proved that with a random act of kindness blitz throughout the city on Saturday.

Kinsmen clubs across the country were busy spreading cheer in their communities during the annual National Day of KINdness on February 22.

A large group of Kinsmen Club members were placed at various locations to impact as many people as possible with kind gestures. The public display of altruism was meant to inspire others to pay it forward.

Kinsmen members handed out prepaid gas cards, grocery coupons, gift cards, coffee, hot chocolate, Timbits, pumped gas, washed windows, paid shopping cart fees, bagged groceries, and even helped people load them into their cars.

"The reason I joined the club was to give back to the community I love so much," said Jonathan Symington, member of the Kinsmen Club of Cornwall. "This was a small way of showing that some good actions can generate other good actions. It feels great to put a smile on someone's face and know that I'm doing my part to make this city better."

The Kinsmen Club of Cornwall was out today to show their support for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake. They had 9 teams entered and also brought over a thousand pounds of used electronics. President Robert Drover and Vice President Jody Archambault also presented a $1500 cheque to Amanda and her team from last year’s car show.
